San Diego & Tijuana

After the flights we decided to leave Grand Canyon already after one night. The reason was, that we wanted to enjoy San Diego and Tijuana a little more as scheduled. And we had seen the most important things. On the same evening we went back to Seligman and spent the night in a camp site there!

The next day we got wakened by Zach who told us to hurry as a thunderstorm was approaching our location. So we broke down the tents and were really fast. Fortunately the thunderstorm changed the direction, so we could enjoy our breakfast and were on the road very early anyway. We went south to the direction of the mexican border. We passed the Arizona desert where it was really hot. We saw some cacctuses but fortunately we missed the rattle snakes and the scorpions. At the city of Yuma which is famous from Western movies but a ususal american town nowadays we headed back to the west, to direction San Diego.

After arriving in San Diego we checked out Imperial Beach. We hat dinner and after a walk at the beach we went to our camp ground were we set up the tents for the last time. The next two days we enjoyed life in San Diego at the beach - we made a trip to the mexican border and also we went to Tijuana twice. Tijuana is the 2nd biggest town of Mexico and consists mainly of stores and bars. It is a very noisy place but nevertheless we enjoyed to be there. Specially some of us enjoyed the possibility to buy a cocktail without being asked for a license.
