Route 66 - Grand Canyon

We left Las Vegas and continued our journey eastwards. First we passed Hoover dam. This dam was built in the 30's and shall supply Las Vegas with water and electric power. Later we made a stop at the Colorado river and took a bath. Actually we dipped into the water and rushed to get out because it was freezing cold. But it was a nice refreshing.

After a lunch in a famous fast food restaurant we reached the famous Route 66. Actually itt is a road like all the others, the difference is that there are no signs which have Route 66 written on. The reason for that is that all those tourists took them and it is to expensive to replace them so often. So we enjoyed the ride on a famous road and we enjoyed a stop in Seligman with some very unique people. One of this guys is a famous haircutter who sells Route 66 souveniers in his store. As many people from all over the world stop in his store, there are many souveniers from countries from all over the world. The walls in his store are wallpapered with business cards from all the visitors. Zach, Egbert and me enjoyed to get a haircut for only 10 $ from him.

Then we continued our journey to reach Grand Canyon in time for the sunset. And we made it. It was wonderful - incredible beautiful. Again - I can not describe with words, what we saw. I hope the pictures can... As you can see some of us did a flight in the canyon as well. It was incredibly beautiful...
